SpeakingJM / 2026

Let’s talk the talk.

I don't pontificate. I talk about what I've done. I'm open about my failures, share what led to success, and show what I'm working on and how it's going. I talk about strategy and tactics together to show why building the right marketing system is the foundation of success.

Built from the work

Three Talks That Resonate.

What happened, what I learned, and what an audience can put to work next.

01 / Talk

Making Judgment Your Infrastructure

Expert judgment is the durable layer in an AI-era company.

How to build judgment into the systems a team runs on so it scales instead of disappearing.

Audience takeaway

A way to distinguish judgment-as-infrastructure from its dangerous inverse, plus three places to start.

02 / Talk

Content-a-mageddon

AI made content abundant. Attention did not follow.

The AI content flood, why attention is moving back to analog and in-person channels, and what to do before competitors notice.

Audience takeaway

A sharper way to decide which channels still earn attention and which merely add volume.

03 / Talk

What AI Can’t Decide for You

Acceleration is not the same as direction.

Where AI speeds up the work, where human judgment still sets the course, and how leaders can tell the difference.

Audience takeaway

A practical line between decisions AI can support and calls the business still has to own.

Short bio (about 50 words)

Josh Martín is a B2B/B2G CMO and strategist with two exits to private equity. He finds the market a company can actually win, then builds the marketing machine that wins it. He is the first CMO of Gauntlet AI and was previously Chief Strategy Officer at Decision Lens.

Intro for your emcee (read aloud, about 30 seconds)

Our next speaker has spent twenty years seeing markets early: forecasting internet video at IDC, measuring the app economy before anyone else was, and now building AI systems as the first CMO of Gauntlet AI. Along the way, he took two companies through sales to private equity. He describes himself as not a thought leader, just a leader with thoughts. Please welcome Josh Martín.

Long bio

Josh Martín has been early to three technology shifts, from three different seats. As an analyst at IDC in 2006 he was forecasting the internet video market while most of the industry was still shipping discs. At Strategy Analytics he launched AppTRAX in 2010 to track the app economy before anyone was measuring it. As CMO of Gauntlet AI he's building the AI systems his own marketing team runs on. In between, he repositioned Logi Analytics around developers and took Decision Lens through its sale to Diversis Capital, which then made him Chief Strategy Officer. The pattern hasn't changed: get the upstream call right, then build what scales it. Two exits along the way.
